A Family Recipe, Poured for Detroit
Founder Monique Sasser started Nikki's Ginger Tea more than two decades ago, brewing bold, fresh ginger tea from a family recipe. What began at Detroit's Eastern Market grew into a family business — with her daughter Andrena working alongside her — that still makes every batch by hand.

Nikki's Ginger Tea is brewed in Detroit's eastside Islandview neighborhood. Along the way, the Sassers have used the business to help neighbors start businesses of their own — a story featured by One Detroit and the Detroit PBS Roadshow.
